THE FOUNDER’S STORY
When Michael Calderone returned to the world of racing, he saw more than a sport in decline — he saw a mirror of what media itself had become: fast, fragmented, and hollow.
Social media moved too quickly to feel anything. Streaming went deep, but always ended too soon. The world was consuming stories, not connecting to them.
That realization became his turning point — the moment he understood that fixing the soul of racing could also help restore the soul of media.
He founded Substrata Media® to do exactly that — to create stories you don’t just watch, but live inside. A system designed for depth, continuity, and emotional ownership.
We began with horses because they embody what’s missing from modern media: honesty, empathy, and heart. But this is only the beginning.
